Safe Program Installation
When installing a new application, certain files referenced by the application may need to be updated or modified to allow the application you are installing to work. If other programs are using or referencing the file to be updated, it will be already open during the installation process, and there will be no possibility of changing the file in any way while it is open. As a result, the required changes won't be applied, and this may lead to minor errors you hardly notice, or it may cause your newly installed application to suffer fatal errors before it even loads fully.
By closing all applications and non-essential processes, Clear-It provides the ideal operating environment for program installation. If you don't Clear-It before you install, you just can't tell whether that fatal application error was the result of buggy program code, operating system malfunction, or poor installation procedure.
