Low Maintenance Web Menus & Site Management
Central Content Management
Web menus are one feature that should remain constant across the entire web site. Web Sergeant's menus are stored in a single place on your web site and delivered to each referring page by the server, only when the page is being viewed. This can save a considerable amount of space by eliminating much duplication.
However, there is a far greater advantage to centralization of content such as web menus. If you need to make a change to your menu system, you need not individually edit every page on your web site to ensure that it is applied. The changes you make to your menu system, once committed and uploaded, go to the central menu file and thence apply immediately to every page that includes the menu. This keeps the maintenance cost of the menu system to a bare minimum and lets you focus on more important things such as substance of the content itself and the optimum nature of navigational structures as they apply to your web site...
Bulk Processing & Auto Backup Facilities
When you have a big job, e.g. a new web site to upgrade; Web Sergeant's Expert Mode can be used to streamline the process down to a few simple moves. You can apply the web menu system you created with Web Sergeant to your entire web site with the click of a button if you so choose. Using the Upgrade Site button in Expert Mode can reduce a great deal of tedium by bulk processing the update of thousands of pages.
Of course, you may change your mind later, or something may go wrong (power failures, surges, etc.) so prior to any bulk processing, Web Sergeant always makes a backup of your web site in a backup directory that shares the parent directory of your web site's source directory. So, if worst comes to worst on a big job, you will always have the benefit of a backup - even if you forgot!
